Develop important motor skills while learning about art and design, biology, photosynthesis and the seasons. Add texture to existing artwork by placing over a plate and rubbing with a whole host of mediums, from crayons and paint, to charcoal, and more. Layer designs to achieve interesting effects or press the plate into modeling clay to create a 3D image. Fill the tray with white glue and food colouring to make a sun-catcher. Place a sheet of paper over the rubbing plate and rub with the side of a crayon to reveal the pattern underneath. colour in the details with markers or coloured pencils.
